i have a 95 Dodge ram 360 and i believe that it is vacume advanced for the distributor but then again i changed my spark plugs wires and distributor/cap and my truck started missing...???/ i have a 95 dodge ram and the same thing happened i had to rout the ignition wire over the valve cover
There is no advance for a 1998 Dodge 5.2. You just set the distributor at the mark on TDC and the computer takes care of the rest. It is set to 0 degrees with a scan tool. It can not be done with a timing light.
its computer controlled you cannot set timing on them the computer will either retard timing or advance it the only thing that you can do to mess with timing is move the belt a tooth on the cam gear
The Dodge Caliber has a timing chain, not a timing belt.
5 degrees BTDC. remember to set the idle to 800rpm for automatic transmission and plug the vacuum advance ose before setting the timing.
You can advance the timing on the Camshaft Gear by 1 tooth clockwise... that's about 9 degrees... It would give you better throttle responce, fuel economy and more power... but the engine itself would sound exactly the same.
The timing marks on a Dodge 2.2 is next to the oil. This is under the hood.
I'm not sure if you can on that model. If it has a distributor, you can loosen the hold down bolt and turn it to advance or retard your timing. If it doesn't have a distributor, it set by the ecm.
first, put a for sale sign on it. second, buy a chevy change the plugs and wires and cap and rotor? ceck the vacum advance
30 degrees dwell timing 8 to 10 at 650 rpm vacuum advance blocked off
Super Dodge Ball Advance happened in 2001.
A 2013 Dodge Caravan uses a timing chain.
If you are sure you got the firing order right when you changed spark plug wires, you most like ly have a timing problem. Either the initial timing is not correct or your timing advance is not working as the engine accelerates. I really would start with rechecking the firing order though. Good luck!
