disconnect the battery for about 2 minutes Answer #2 Disconnecting the negative battery terminal to remove the codes will also erase any stored operating parameters from the Keep Alive Memory (KAM) and cause the engine to run rough for a period of time (several miles) while the computer re-learns the information. CAUTION: Do not disconnect the positive terminal to remove the codes from memory - if a spark should occur when reconnecting the battery, the PCM could be damaged. - Haynes Repair Manual #36071, 1994-2005 Mazda Pick-ups.

I have a 1995 ford ranger, and the ABS light comes on when the brake fluid is low. Check and make sure your brake fluid is full. If it is full then it could be a number of different things.
You have a problem with the ABS system. Your brakes will still work properly but you will not have the extra safety of ABS. Have this checked out.
Bring to a shop that has an ABS scanner to determine problem
have vehicle scanned with ABS scanner to determine the problem
I wonder if one of the ABS fuses is bad ?
If the ABS light is on , a malfunction has been detected . It could be a fuse , a sensor , or some other problem
If the ABS light is flashing it means the system is malfunctioning but still working. The dash light behind the speedometer is burnt out.
If you want to just disable the ABS then you can pull out the fuse for the ABS relay. The only thing is the ABS light will show on the dash.
speed regulator sensor needs replacement
Its your vss sensor on the rear axel

You'll need to find out what's wrong with the ABS. You may need to take it to a brake shop or the dealer to read the diagnostic code from the ABS computer. If the light is on, the computer has a code for you to read.
