Cars don't really blow valves per say. It can drop a valve or burn a valve. If it drops a valve, meaning the valve comes loose it will probably knock badly and the engine may not turn over at all if it locks up the engine. If it burns a valve, it will have reduced power and may skip or blow pressure back thru the intake depending if it's an intake or exhaust valve. Either way running the engine in this condition will cause more damage.
No, if there is coolant in your valve cover it'll be mixed with oil. You blew your head gasket, possibly warped or cracked your head. It may look like coolant is leaking from your valve cover but it's your intake gasket leaking.
If you mean the ERG valve which relates to emission, I recommend having a mechanic do it, but the valve itself is not expensive about $50.00. I let this problem lag on and it blew a cap called a diverter valve that has something to do with vacuum, dont wait like I did.
sounds like you blew a valve or head gasket. take to auto shop and junk it if its not worth the money to repair. unless its a 69 goat. then fix that bad boy.
I was just told by an auto repair man that my 2002 olds alero's power steering fluid can only be accessed and therefor filled by the dealer because of a special tool needed to open the compartment. Diffrent answer: i just filled my wifes 02 alero with standard steering fluid and it works fine. nothing blew up.
