electric window binds on 2003 ford windstar
To replace an ignition switch on a Windstar, it will cost you approximately $200. This can also depend on the age of the vehicle as well.
what is an ignition actuator i work on Chevrolet and have never heard of it are you talking about the switch
I had the same problem in my '97 Lumina. There is an actuator switch in the steering column that was bad. I was going to replace it myself but the covers for the steering column required that the steering wheel be removed and I didn't have the tools so I had to take it to the garage and have them replace the actuator. Hope this isn't too late to help
Before replacing the thermostat or any other component of your Windstar's HVAC system, be sure to check your blend door for functionality FIRST. The most common issue with heat or A/C in the late model Ford windstar is a broken blend door. A broken blend door actuator is almost as common as a broken blend door itself. Typically, the fix requires disassembling the entire dash and replacing the whole plenum box, which can be a costly repair.
Check your headlight switch. Sometimes the switch goes bad and the dash lights won't light. Replace the switch for the fix.
check bulbs, fuses & reverse switch
have you check the tail light fuse to see if it is blown. other possiblly is the headlight switch.
You may have to replace the headlight switch since your tail lights are tied into the same switch.
bad wireing or your insterment panel dimmer switch is bad. the switch is a dealer only part so get one from a junk yard or new its up to you
The dashboard *switch* - slide control itself??Never heard of one of those going bad, but... Start with the dash trim piece - 2 7mm screws at the bottom - alongside the ashtray/cup-holder pull out. The trim piece then unsnaps from the dash.Expect a couple more screws holding the heater controls and wire connection or 2.Pretty straight-forward.If by chance you really are looking how to replace the temperature blend door actuator, that is well covered by numerous contributors in the "Related Questions" below.
