You don't have to drill out the whole baffle. I put 3-3/8" holes in the front of each baffle and my 600 vlx has the low tone that I was looking for and the volume is enough to be heard on the road with out shaking my neighbors windows when I leave at 6 AM. So for I've had no popping on decel so I don't think I'll need to re-jet the carb.
You may not have to rejet, however, most new bikes come from the factory a little on the 'lean' side, to satisfy emission requirements. Keep an eye on your plugs. If they run clean and white, you're too lean. Rejet before you damage the engine and enjoy the better performance.
it will get louder
2 1/8 hole drill
Will the exhaust pipes for a Honda shadow 1100vt fit a Honda shadow 2012 750
The baffle is only there to lower the dB's on the exhaust so that the motorcycle can meet noise standards. I have a 2007 CBR 600RR and removed the baffle completely without any repercussions to the engine's performance or reliability.
No, it is not the same.
no
If your are looking for a good mellow"Harley"tone,I recommend the Cobra 2" drag pipes. They are full length, stock size at the heads with 2" "tips".They have removable baffles to give you that tone you are looking for.I speak from experience.I have an 03 750 spirit with these pipes and the baffles removed and the sound will amaze you. Don't forget if you install these pipes you will need to rejet your carbs as well.
yes yes
you could have a small hole in your exhaust between your engine and your muffler....you can patch the exhaust or replace your exhaust
No
In the exhaust manifold on the back of the engine. In the exhaust manifold on the back of the engine.
It is possible to dissassamble exhaust pipes and remove the silencer pipe from inside the exhaust proper. This will, however, make the bike more noisy and thus illegal in many countries. Another way would be to buy other than stock, that is aftermarket exhaust pipes and mount them on the bike.
