remove the bulb Another option is to locate the door switch is mounted near the spot where the door straps attach to the body and unplug it. By unplugging the switch, the vehicle will assume the door is always closed. Some vehicles make a buzzer sound when you open the doors with the keys in the ignition. This buzzer sound will no longer work because, as I said, it thinks the doors are always closed. -- JJohnson remov fuse cavity # 4 10 amp red
Check the door switches, one on each door, one of them must be malfunctioning.
Unless you car has this feature, you can only remove the bulb or hold the door switch in.
I have a 2002 Accord and the dome light, interior courtesy lights on the doors, and the map lights stopped working. They all work off one fuse and it was blown. I replaced the fuse for 93 cents and fixed the problem. . Before you worry about your fuse, i would check your doorpin! open all of the doors one by one and push the door pin all of the way in....sometimes you need to adjust the door latch
8 minutes to fully open or close.
rear washer spills water. check it first.

You go home one evening: it's dark, and you open the door, feel for the light switch, turn the light on. The switch and the light are technology, they use electricity. That's one way they are related.
check the drivers door jam area you should see a little tab sticking out it pushes in and out when opening and closing the door that triggers the light
If you push that button, the dome light inside of the truck won't come on when you open the door.
The dome light switch has 3 positions. Off-On-On when the door is opened. Put it in the proper position.
Most likely the fuse is blown for the dome light on the Silverado if the light doesn't come on.
By pass the door mode. The Dome light should have a 3 way switch OFF - Door open on - Constant on Move the switch to the off mode, and light should not come on when door is opened.
the dome light bulb can be burnt out or the door pins are sticking. check it out.
check the dome lamp override switch
is the switch on the dome light set to doors! if so, one of the door switches are stuck. spray all door switches with a good lubricating spray. and push on buttons with hand to free them up. if not that, then one of the door switches are bad. or the dome light bulb is burnt out.
Bad bulb, check fuse if other courtesy lights out or if the only one
The door jamb switch normally completes the power circuit to the dome lamp when the door is open. When the door is closed the switch opens the circuit, removing power from the dome light. If the switch is dirty, defective, stuck pushed in, or disconnected from the wiring, when the door is open the switch does not close the circuit and the dome light remains off as if the door is still closed. The headlight switch provides an "alternate path" to close the same circuit and allow power to the dome light. I had the same problem on a 1997 Chevy C1500 pickup truck.
its flashing to let you know a door is open
Take the bulb out.
