The low-side service port is under the hood in the rear (close to the windshield)of a 2004 impala ss. Look for an aluminum tube with a blue colored cap. Unscrew the blue cap and place the hose from the recharger onto this service port (depending on which hose, there may be a locking mechanism that will require you to "pull back" on a connector ring to snap into a locked position), then procede with following the recharger's instructions.

R134
You will need to identify the refrigerant type by looking on the front of the engine area for a r134 number. This tells you to use the current refrigerant. You can purchase the R134 in any auto parts store with the adaptor necessary to fill the system. If you are not sure on the refrigerant type, take the car to a Jiffy Lube or Quick Oil Change shop that offers a quick A/C charge. Meanwhile if you have the R134, and the adaptor, you need to start the car, start the A/C and connect the adaptor to the low side connection, usually marked with a blue cap or small cap on the A/C system. Follow the directions carefully on the A/C refill cans. Any overcharge could be dangerous and damaging to the system.
R134 .... IS freon.
r134
It contains no Freon. It contains R134 Refrigerant. If it is low, that means it has a leak. It is illegal to add refrigerant without first repairing the leak. Take it to a professional for repair and recharge.
