Dude! Just wiggle the shifter!
What is happening, is the little locking pawl in the transmission's starting to wear out. (The same thing happens on non-Saab cars, but on them you have to turn the steering wheel.) To unstick the key on a Saab, hold the key in one hand and the shifter in the other. Turn the key to the right and wiggle the shifter. When you get it just right, the key will turn.

remove the front cover, disconnect the turn signals wires and the two nuts that whole the gages, then down under the ignition switch and remove the two Allen screws and disconnect the wiring. install your new one ignition switch in reverse to the instructions.

Set the multi-information display to TRIP A. Turn the ignition switch off. Press and hold the ODO / TRIP switch, and turn the ignition switch on (IG). After turning the ignition switch on (IG), keep holding the switch for at least 5 seconds.

Are you using an original key, or a replacement that has the proper security computer chip located in the fat plastic part of the key? If not, the car's security system will keep the ignition locked and will not allow you to turn the ignition switch. ALSO: some earlier models of Focus had ignition switches that were a problem. If you ARE using the correct key and can't turn the switch to start the car anymore, the ignition switch may have to be replaced.
