It sounds like your alternator is no longer recharging your battery. You probably need a new alternator.
Toyota Tercel.
Bad battery and/or alternator.
The valv
I have a 96 tercel and it stopped run while I was driving it, the problem was bad battery cables and the motor would not trun and the lights on the dish board would dim when the key was truned, lastly the cables connected to the battery had alot of white "stuff" all over them. Cables changed end of story car starts fine now.
This happened to me in a 95 Toyota tercel and the cause was for the most part dirty battery connections, when the electrical load was raised the alternator could not immediately keep up and required a moment to adjust, but with a bad battery connection (probably the Positive in my case) it couldn't temporarily draw enough power from the battery to still fire the spark plugs hence the immediate stall.
try disconnecting battery for at least five minutes.
Go have Your Fuel Pump REPLACED
try unhooking positive side of battery it works on my 96 tercel if it comes back on something really is wrong
Look at the bottom of the engine try to follow the + battery cable
Because its a old car and you used to long
get your starter check I had same problem it was faulty starter
It might have a problem with the neutral safety switch, (it's what is switched on when you press the clutch) The switch is behind clutch pedal. It looks a lot like a brakelight switch. If it's bad, the part is about 40 or 50 dollars. Good Luck!!!
