Regarding rear-drive usage, yes. Front-drive is way more complicated.
Engines from front wheel drive cars do not swap to rear-drive vehicles, they are different, obviously.
The only real differences between a 2.8 and a 3.4 are internal.
The 2.8 was given a longer stroke to make the 3.1, and the 3.1 was then given a wider bore to create the 3.4. The only real differences are piston-related. There were other minor changes over the years, of course, but the engines are generally a relatively easy swap from one to another since most engine peripherals swap right over. One exception is that the water pump from serpentine belt applications turns the opposite way from V-belt applications, so you have to use the setup that native to the donor engine or swap the water pump.
Here's an excellent site for answers to questions regarding 60 degree Chevy V-6's and specifically S-10 series trucks. However, there's a lot of universal technical info on the engines and tips from experienced modders about potential swapping problems/solutions, including items specifically regarding 2.8 to 3.4 swaps.

a very easy swap...use the original trans
i wouldn't swap it, the 87 is carbureated and the prelude is fuel injected, just put the same engine in. the 87 accord engine has less hp .
You need to provide more info on the size and manufacturer of the v8 you wish to swap, also trans selection, 4wd or not?
First look at the manufacturing date on the rear of the driver's door; example 7/87 you need that to follow the motor swap. Turbo Before 4/87 1984-1986 Turbo After 5/87 1987-1989 Turbo NoN-Turbo Before 3/87 1984-1987 Non Turbo NoN-Turbo After 4/87 1987-1989 Non Turbo
It is: 87-34+12 = 65
28 x 87 = 2436
The arithmetic mean is (22 + 31 + 34)/3 = 87/3 = 29The arithmetic mean is (22 + 31 + 34)/3 = 87/3 = 29The arithmetic mean is (22 + 31 + 34)/3 = 87/3 = 29The arithmetic mean is (22 + 31 + 34)/3 = 87/3 = 29
87 centimeters is 34 1/4 inches.
29 x 3 = 87
The GCF is 1.
34 + 98 + 98 + 87 + 32 = 349
