See if you can get access to the gas door by removing the lining/carpet in the trunk. Chances are the cable may have become unhooked there or needs adjustment. I hope this helps you. Mark

On the 2000 LS, the fuel door is tied to the door locks. When the doors are locked, so is the fuel door. When the doors are UNLOCKED, so is the fuel door. When the fuel door is unlocked you can easily open it.
The fuel door on a 2013 Ford fusion can be opened by using the fuel door lever next to the driver's side seat. Pull the lever up and the fuel door will open.
go inside the trunk and there should be a lever that you pull to open it on the right hand side, if not there youre going to have to look for it.
There is not a fuel door release lever on the 1994 VW Golf 3 door. Press on the front edge of the fuel door.
It (lever) is in the trunk, left side, under mouth of gas tank. I found it. Maybe inside the glove compartment? On the floor left side of drivers seat, its a lever.
Open up the trunk and remove the paneling on the fuel door side. Reach behind the area near the fuel door and there will be a lever that you can pull toward you. This will release the fuel door.
Use emergency release lever in the trunk side to open the fuel door.
The fuel door release latch, on your Cadillac DTS, is located on the floor near the drivers seat. Pull the lever up and the fuel door will open.
you just push down on the fuel door and it should spring up. If it doesnt there is a realese in side the trunk right below the fuel door.
I don't know but you probably don't have to adjust the cable. If the pin at the fuel door that engages the hole in the bracket on the fuel door is moving 3/16 to 1/4 inch or so when some one gently activates the fuel door lever, then all you have to do is gently bend the bracket on the fuel door until the pin just engages the bracket on the fuel door but still disengages from the bracket when the lever is pulled.
If the car is equipped with that option there will be a button in glove box. If no button, then just push inwards on the edge of the fuel door and the rear edge will pop out. If glove box button is present and not working, there will be an emergency release inside the trunk on the back side of the fuel door. Usually a cable or a lever.
