Try the brake pedal arm. Switch should be on the side of it next to driver's legs, not on firewall side. Switch should engage circuit by the the arm moving forward, letting switch button pop forward toward front of car. Reason is no matter how much brake pressure you apply with foot, the first thing that happens is the brake lights come on. Typically screws into bracket assembly and has nut to lock down. Will have pigtail connector for the wiring harness. Cheers!
