You need to replace or clean the ERG valve. This will help with your milage too.
I've had this problem a couple of times with my 96 Ford Explorer. Either: 1. The car needs a tune up 2. A sensor is out and the car needs a tune up 3. Something is wrong with idle . . . needs to be checked The real answer is that you need to get to a mechanic asap . . . When the idle was loose, the car would die, but when a tune up was needed it ran rough without fully dying . . .
your best bet would be to trade her in and get a real car
More than likely ignition timing..
No. If you want it done right, you better expect to put some real work into it. No simple solution will fix your problem. I speak from personal experience. Sincerely, the girl who is changing the starter on her own 95 Ford Probe SE
check your crank position sensor, scan code P0335

It is under the dash left of drivers left knee. A real pain to get to. I heard the diagram is in the glove box but not sure.
There are several signs, My experience was a engine that ran very rich. My sparkplugs smelled of gas and rough Idle with no real power. The role of the valve is to re-use a portion of your own exaust for better engine performance, fuel economy, and emmisions output. Engine Rough idle and poor acceleration can be caused by a faulty EGR valve.
If i new the year of engine it would help on the answer. So check these few things first. plugs, cap, wires, Injector, Low are no compression on a cylinder. EGR valve whitch would lean out 2 cylinders and cause a no idle or real rough idle. A vaccume leak.
