sounds like you forgot to put the correct shims in when starter was installed
Did you use the starter from the 85 model engine?? If you did then it is the wrong one for the early model engine, And you will need to get a starter for a 77 model engine, and it may still need to be shimed. And yes GM did make 2 different fly-wheels but that is not your problem.
What year, what motor?? it is a 2002 Chevy avalanche 1500
The starter solenoid is mounted directly on the starter.
The starter solenoid is attached to the starter.
You should hope so. The other option is a damaged flywheel which is a much larger project than replacing a starter.
You will have to remove starter, It is behind the starter in the block.
Starter is located on passenger side of engine. On the side of the engine at the bottom.
It is behind the starter, You will have to remove starter to service it,
Follow the positive battery cable from the battery, it will lead you right to the starter.
could be bad bushings in the starter.
It's on the lower right side of the block
It depends on what year and engine you have but, if you follow the positive battery cable from the battery, it will lead you right to the starter.
