If your York has more than 65000 miles it is probably the timing belt. Same thing happened to me. There is an inspection plate on the front drivers side if the moter. A little hard to get off but you can see the belt on top of the pulley from there. If it is the belt make sure you are prepared for a lot of work to fix it. I strongly recomend if you do it yourself, replace the water pump and tensioner pulley at the same time. Good luck.
The transmission computer uses sensors located on both the engine and transmission for shift timing.
Is is controlled by a computer. If you are having issues that seam like timing you should check the knock sensor. This will make it act like the timing is off. If it is acceleration then check the oxygen sensor or mass air flow sensor.
Remove the lower timing belt cover and then the sensor should be to the right of the crankshaft pully.
The 2001 Infinity intake valve timing control position sensor is located on the back and of the head. The sensor should be labeled as such.
Knock sensors detect detonation ( knocking ) by reacting to the ping by retarding the ignition timing so you will need a timing light for this. connect the timing light and locate the knock sensor, ( many are on the intake manifold ) now use a metal object to tap ( not too hard and not on the sensor itself ) on the intake manifold ( light tapping should suffice ), if the sensor is functioning you will see the timing retard. If the timing does not retard you will need to check voltage across the terminals of the knock sensor connector.
it is behind the timing belt when changing this you should change the balance belt also the timing belt
It is on the inside of the timing chain cover.
Yes.
there is no " timing belt " sensor, but there are 2 sensors that control the timing. One is the crankshaft sensor and the other one is the camshaft sensor.
I don't have the documentation in front of me to give you the timing specs, but I can tell you that the timing is electronically controlled. There are no adjustment to be made.
there is no timing belt sensor, only camshaft position sensors and crankshaft position sensor.
It should be at the bottom front of the engine by the timing cover.
