you have one of two things change the fuel injector relay in the engine bay or more than likely a build up of carbon on the valves get a good fuel cleaner into the tank .
Find out why it is only running on 2 cylinders. Can be bad spark plugs, defective coils, bad fuel injectors, defective spark plug wires, etc.
If you mean it is only running on 3 cylinders, you should check your spark plugs, spark plug wires and the distributor.
Check the spark plugs and wires Do a compression test
Bad spark plug or plug wires. Can also be a burnt valve on those cylinders.
No. The spark plugs are responsible for igniting the fuel in the cylinders. If you start yanking them out, the engine is going to stop running. This is covered in the book Things That Dummies Do.
I have already checked and it is not the distributor cap, spark plugs or wires. The car was running fine last night and was on 3 cylinders this morning. Any information would help. Thanks!
4-cylinders have four spark plugs, 6-cylinders have six spark plugs, 8-cylinders have eight spark plugs, etc, etc, etc
it could very well be that one or two of you spark plugs are cross threaded, you should check for lots of oil around the top of the plugs, and the other thing it could be is ignition.
Could be plugs and wires (spark plugs) I had a mis-fire (only 3 cylinders running) and I replaced my spark plugs and wires, and it worked. I have a 2003 Dodge Neon SE. Cheers!
Check your spark plugs and fuel filter.
not running on all cylinders? check for spark and compression on all cylinders perhaps catalytic converter is plugged
Not running on all cylinders? Bad spark plug or wire? Bad ignition coil (if C.O.P.)? Bad valve? etc.?
