the computer can shutdown due to low oil pressure. This should throw a code and the check engine light should come on. Have a code scan done...free at most auto parts stores--just ask. The ECM/computer controls the signals causing the injectors to fire.

Are you sure you're connecting to the low pressure line instead of the high pressure line? The low pressure line should have a blue or black dust cap on it, while the high pressure line should have a red dust cap on it.
