replace the pad that contacts the brakelight switch and opens it to turn off the lights

Had the same problem on a 94. Behind the brake pedal there's a small switch that triggers the brake lights when it's pushed on. Sometimes the plastic(might be rubber) piece gets old and breaks causing the brake lights to say on at all times. Honestly, I stuck some double sided tape and a quarter on there because no one carried a replacement and I just never got around to going to the junk yard. It's been that way for about 3 years now and I've still not had the problem again lol. Good luck.
