Pull the inner panel and actuate the latch manually.
the door on my 94 aerostar only opens from the outside and only if you hold the lock button up on the inside while you pull the handle. it is a pain it the but. i am going to take it apart this weekend and maybe i can help you next week. it is probably just a hook or latch that came off inside the door.
Have somebody hold the hood release cable in at the handle while you close the hood. If it works, your cable may be over stretched.
I believe the 2003 - and newer have the LATCH System. Check related link below... How the LATCH System Works on Car Seats
Remove the inner door panel. There will be an arm that is or in this case is not attached to the handle. There are two rods: one upper and one lower. Pull the top rod down to unlatch the top catch and pull the lower one up to unlatch the bottom catch. Hope this works.
I opened my hood with the latch and when I went ot close it the latch no longer works. Is ther some way I can close and secure my hood shut?
You need a local mechanic who works on European/German vehicles, not necessarily an overpriced Mercedes dealer repair place. Your car door latch could be either frozen if your in a cold climate or just turned into the latched position. With car door open lift handle to free latch. Now turn latch ( a curved metal assembly... needs a mechanic.
Start with removing the door panel. The handle itself is mounted with a bolt or two.Disconnect the linkage that goes to the latch mechanismReverse to install. While you have the door panel off, take a moment to grease the window track / regulator, and lubricate basically everything you can see in the way of linkages and door latch. WD40 or similar works good on that stuff.See "Related Questions" below for more
Just did this about a couple months ago. You have to go inside. You then take the handle off (two screws after you remove the covers that are over the screws). The take a screw driver and pop the panel off. After that there is a long bar that goes from the latch to the release. I believe all you have to do is pull upwards on that to release it. I thought I had the same problem but the latch was just really jammed. Took some WD40 to it, worked it really well and it works like a dream now.
Does it turn over? Does it have spark? Fuel?
How do i get the trunk to close when it sometime works
my latch is broken on my Honda and all i did was put a bungy cord thru the loop in the hood and pull it to the tow hitch on the bottom of the car and it works fine
the hood latch is not releasing this could be due to a stuck/broken hood latch or something wrong with the release mechanism (broken/stuck cable, handle came off of cable, etc...) use screwdriver(s) through your grille to pull the lever that would be pulled from the cable. best thing to do is get a new hood latch from local parts store and look at it to figure out how it works so you know just what to press/pull/activate on the car -R.
