95 dodge stealth sohc It only starts when it wants to and when it does start if the rpms drop below 1k it stalls out new battery the starter is covered in oil any ideas?

since no one on here helped me I decided I'd throw in a starter. Turns out that was the problem, along with a vacuum leak.

Does your 1994 Dodge Stealth need a new battery alternator or both you can crank it but as soon as the rpm's are low the car stalls out like at a redlight or stopping?
a simple test to check the alternator is to disconnect either one of the battery terminals battery while the car is still running at its slowest speed if the enginge quits the alternator is bad, or an easier test is to rev the engine from idle with the head lights on and observe if the lights get brighter. do you have a manual for the car?
