On a 1996 Ford Aerostar , 4.0 liter V6 engine :
The oil pressure sending unit for the oil pressure gauge is on the drivers side
of the engine below the Power Steering pump
where is the oil pressure switch on my 96 Yukon
were is the oil sender switch on a 96 honda accord
( No )
No door. You have to drop the tank.
The oil pressure switch is right under the alternator bracket or power steering pump
Three wire switch on the driver side of trans, just above oil pan.
check fuses
A bad fuel pump can cause stalling. The oil pressure will show low oil on the lights or gauges but if the pressure is ok then the switch should not cause stalling.
You need to reset it. Usually by turning the switch on and off three times
should be 10W30. had problems when 5w30 was in mine so i made the switch and problem solved.
It is located on the back of the block at the top near the distributor.
The 1996 Aerostar did not come with a 3.8 V6. It is a 3.0 or 4.0 http://autorepair.about.com/library/firing_orders/bl-ford-firing-96.htm
