Blown Head gasket. The 4.6L Ford V8 I believe has aluminum heads, in this case when the motor runs hot it will warp the head's mating surface to the block and cause the headgasket to leak water. This requires the head to be machined to ensure a proper fit. This will be a major repair.
A cracked engine block
Probably a cracked cylinder head.
Blown head gasket, cracked head, failed intake manifold, etc
The manifold itself could be cracked. I have a 2000 Pathfinder LE with 100k miles and a 3.3. I noticed an antifreeze leak on the right side of the top of the engine. Using a mirror, I found that under the manifold, there was a nice crack.
Most likely a cracked intake manifold.
NO NO NO you can i guess but it will ruin your engine. You either have a cracked block or blown head gasket i would guess. Moisture in the engine will destroy it. In addition to a headgasket or cracked block (unlikely), would be cracked cylinder head, intake manifold gasket or manifold. What kind of car, what size engine? 1999 CADILLAC DEVILLE
cracked head
Think you may have bad head gasket, seal or cracked head. Water is getting into your engine which usually causes white smoke. Also leaking antifreeze is from these same causes. Hope this helps. Ken
