OK, I'm not an MB certified tech, just an owner of several of them, incl a 98 c230. This is the first time I've heard of that one! It is about time for the 02 sensor to go bad...very expensive part... real easy (like 2 minutes) to replace. I have found searching the internet for even a used one (normally guaranteed to work) from a wrecked car saved me hundreds...well worth it. Use part # as it is actually the same on many models for about 7 years as I recall.
I don't think that there is a camshaft sensor on this engine. There is however, a crankshaft sensor that is located on the passenger side of the bellhousing where it meets the engine. It should be just to the passenger side of the distributor. There is s sensor in the distributor that does the same job as a cam sensor.
Back of the engine, just to the passenger side of the distributor.Back of the engine, just to the passenger side of the distributor.
Assuming this is a V6 or V8 engine, Bank 2 is the bank of cylinders on the passenger side of engine. Sensor 1 is threaded into the exhaust pipe between the passenger side of engine and the catalytic converter AKA upstream.
That is the knock sensor
It is on the back of the engine, just to the passenger side of the distributor. It is on the back of the engine, just to the passenger side of the distributor.
Passenger side of engine block.
The cam sensor is under the front of the passenger side cylinder head
Bank 1 is the passenger side of the engine in your E-150 Sensor 1 is between the engine and the catalytic converter ( upstream sensor )
Bank 1 on that Town car would be the passenger side of the engine. Bank 1 Sensor 1 would be the first O2 sensor in the passenger side exhaust after the engine but before the catalytic converter.
Bank 2 is on the passenger side of the engine and the o2 sensor is located right after the cat converter on the passenger side. Bank 1 is on the drivers side of the engine.
check your sensor on the back of the engine block and under the intake manifold, passenger side. check your sensor on the back of the engine block and under the intake manifold, passenger side.
