99 catera You plugged code reader in while car was running car cleared check engine light when you start car it runs rough and dies now?

you cleared the codes so now the vehicle info is lost so the censers are resetting so the car can run efficiently.the censers should return to where they were in about five miles or so,but your check engine light will come back on.the best thing to do is ,fix the problem,clear the codes with the engine off,then after you finish everything and unhook the scanner drive the vehicle for about ten miles to make sure the problem is fixed.hope that helps.
