For LA it's about right, I am currently appealing a traffic ticket for CVC 22350 excessive speed here in Fresno Ca that I got back in Feb 09, and my brief is due on the 27th of Aug. Just Google help i got a ticket and they have good appeals cases to research from. The appeals court should have sent you a form but you will most likely have to go to the appeals department and research your specific case to get a brief and see how they wrote it. i am having a hard time finding them online. good luck
