Oil Check and smoke from the oil ck I looked at a car today and when I checked the oil there was smoke coming from the tube where the oil level stick goes in the car?
Sidestream smoke is the smoke coming from a burning tobacco product and is the main component of Second-hand smoke, also known as Environmental Tobacco Smoke or passive smoking. It has been classified as a Class A carcinogen by the US Environmental Protection Agency. Side-stream smoke sidestream smoke
Answer If it's blue smoke, it's likely worn piston rings that are allowing oil into the combustion chamber. If it's white smoke, it could be a head gasket leaking anti-freeze into the cylinder. I'm assuming the smoke is coming out the exaust pipe... If its after idle on take off it is prob the valve guide seal if you can take that little smoke its ok
That would depend on the color of the smoke:Light blue-gray smoke is due to oil getting into the combustion system, usually due to worn piston rings or valve seals.Black smoke is due to the engine burning too rich, usually due to fouled or faulty spark plugs or a clogged fuel filter;White smoke (steam) is usually due to condensation inside the exhaust, or coolant entering the combustion chamber. If the white smoke disappears after a few…
You don't mention where the smoke is coming from or what color the smoke is. If the smoke is black and coming out of the tail-pipe, the engine is running rich and you probably need to do at least a minor tuneup and change the spark plugs, inspect the distributor cap and rotor and replace if necessary, and check the spark plug wires. If the smoke is blue and coming out of the tail-pipe, the…
My 92 subaru legacy wagon hesitates when you tramp the pedal why and i got black smoke coming out of exhaust gave it a oil change any suggestion?
If it is white smoke and it is coming out of the exhaust then it is possibly a blown head gasket, the white smoke is from water getting into the engine. some times you can check by taking the radiator cap offand turning the engine over, if water shoots out then its a blown head gasket. at least that's what my Nissan did.
It would help to know where the "smoke" is coming from and what it looks or smells like. For example, white smoke from the engine compartment after a recent oil change could just be burning oil that spilled on your engine or pipes. Smoke from under the car with an acrid sweet smell could suggest problems with your transmission. Generally speaking smoke means something is overheating, so try and determine the area of the car…
NO!! White smoke indicates the burning of oil. The law says, "ANY smoke coming from the engine during any part of the test is grounds for failure." I've been an Emissions guy in Denver for 23 years. White smoke is oil. Black is gas (too rich). Black smoke can get pricey. White smoke is always pricey!!
