you may have in correct dipstick in vehicle OR clean the dipstick and then re-check.... or if its an older 5.0 engine, there is 2 drain plugs...

open the hood, look at the engin,now look to the left rear of the engin on top near firewall coming up from the trans., there should be the dipstick tube bolted to the block or top of head.if its a standard trans, no stick,its filled at a side plug on the transmission-left or right side,it cant be missed.usually its a plug with a sqare drive.
