After replacing head fuel injector plugs wires and fuel filter the motor skips when idle any ideas garage is scratching there heads?

What is the make/model/year/engine size, how many miles on engine, how long has the car had this problem, and has it been sitting for any extended period of time? Also, did they completely replace ALL fuel injectors, and have they changed any/all the spark plugs too? Please answer all these questions as detailed as you can be.
Answerthe engine is a 1995 2.2ltr with 185,000. It started out running fine, had 30,000mi since last tune up, a plug got broken when removing it. The head was removed to get plug out and that was when the head was found cracked. New head was installed and new lifters, pushrods and rocker arms. When th car was started, it had a skip in motor. Removed plug in #4 and found it wet, disconnected injector, after instaling plug, and it ran the same, only injector #4 was replaced. The fuel filter was also replaced. It has spark, removed plug to check, Installed 4 new plugs and wires, gapped at .060. I haven't done a compression test as of yet....plugs seem to look fine after running car for 30 miles...just got skip in it. No hestitation under acceloration just when idling in park, and when stopped.Wiki User

If you mean the fuel injector for the #4 cylinder isn't working the answer is simple, either the injector is bad and needs replaced, or the connector has gone bad/ the wires are shorted out. Put an injector pulse tester on that injector (most people don't have these so you'll need to get it tested at a garage), if the injector doesn't fire when it's tested separatly you need an injector. If it does fire that means the plug/wire is the problem.

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be a blocked fuel injector, you could try some injector cleaner or get it checked at a garage. Try pulling the electrical connector off the top of each injector in turn when the car is idling and listen to the engine. If you pull one off and the idle doesnt change much, it's probably blocked.

Is it high mileage, or is there a chance that dirty fuel has been used? You could try changing the fuel filter if this is the case, then try a shot of Injector Cleaner in the fuel. Use one of the expensive Injector Cleaners, the type that you can't buy from the petrol station. You may find a local MOT garage, a proper repair garage, that is, may have one of those £20-a-bottle jobs, which do work. On the off-chance that there's been some water in the fuel- At the base of the diesel fuel filter there will be a bleed tap. Any water in the fuel will sink to the bottom of the filter bowl. Put a plastic tube onto the bleed tap and into a jar. Open the tap for a few seconds until clean diesel comes out.
