my Oldsmobile alero did the same thing. It turned out to be as simple as a blown bulb in my tail light.
I tried all the fuses, the parts that under the brakes I checked that. All lights come on and working except the brake lights no break lights.
Check the switch at the brake pedal .
Probably the flasher unit needs to be replaced. This is an electronic switch which usually mounts underneath the dashboard.

In daylight, nothing more than working brakes. After sunset, also reflectors and working lights.
When the signal lights are not working on a car, there are a couple of things that could be going on. One could be that the bulb needs to be replaced. The other possibility is that the signal relay needs to be replaced.
turn signal switch needs replaced!
Check the switch at the brake pedal, it is what makes the brakes come on, it may be malfunctioning.
How about a malfunctioning brake light switch
switch at foot pedal perhaps?
If the night running lights have failed the bulbs should be checked. Find the bulb housings and remove the parts. After the bulbs are replaced check the lights.
