If the engine has been run without sufficient oil, there will be significant damage.
Get as far off the road as is safely possible. Shut off the engine and lock all doors.
I don't know why it does this but to stop it all you do is hold the lock button for 10seconds

I just bought one and it does...however, when you shut the drivers side door it pops the unlock button and unlocks all the doors. I have to put the key in the door and turn it to lock all the doors at once.
It could be the cause of the knock only if the gasket was bad and leaked out almost all the oil.
