Any idea how to tone down the Ford Escape alarm sound when you activate by locking car remote as it is has such a loud honk?

well normally u only have to hit the lock button once ... on my 02 escape if i hit it twice it honks ... granted it is an annoying sound and loud too .... try to just press the lock button only once. see if that locks it instead of pressing it twice.

Ater about 3 to 4 minutes of trying it finally goes off and I can then start my car. Is the batter need replacing in the remote or a fuse needs change? Does the alarm need servicing?
