Macs have a operating system designed to work with the hardware so they work very fast even though the models under $1000 only ship with the Intel core2duo, but unless you are planning on watching 1080p videos or editing 720p or 1080p videos, it should be enough. Now dell on the other hand does sell computers with more power for a cheaper price, but they ship with Windows which is less user friendly, more prone to viruses, and you don't get free life support like you do with a mac at the genus bar (you heard me right, an appointment is FREE!) where instead the geek squad charges outrageous prices to fix problems with Windows. So if I were you, I would go with the Mac if you are looking for an easy, problem free experience, but if you don't need a computer tomorrow I would recommend waiting for the macrumors.com guide to say it is ok to buy it, this guide can be found at http://guides.macrumors.com/Buyer%27s_Guide

∙ 15y agoWell, there are better tools on the Mac, and PC has good tools to it also depends on the year you buy it because there are different versions like now PC has Windows Vista 2008, Mac came up with iPod touch!

∙ 13y agoMacs all the way. They are better at almost... anything! And if u don't believe me... look at the mac adds or search the web. And the ipod touch is also made by apple which made the mac computers and those are great too!
macs are good i have a ipod touch its man cool i also wanted a mac computer but my parents said its too expensive so I'm still stuck with a stupid fudging dell computer i had this stupid dell computer for more than 6 years its lagging like its only got a little faster because i got the fios high speed internet

Well, there is not a clear answer. I personally believe that Macs are better than PCs. But my thoughts are different from yours. The best thing to do is to go and play with a Mac and see if you like it or not. Go to apple.com and see the videos, specs and everything else you are worried about. If you see that increases your productivity or creativity then go for it with not second thought...! i personally say macs are better, because ever since windows 7 came out, dells are just trying to copy apple ideas. 1st, macs don't get as many viruses as PCs do. mac's have better graphics and can do more things PCs can't do, that they can't beat.
