"Yes macs are heaps better. Pcs suck"

Well, you couldn't be more wrong to be quite honest - but in the same way you'd be wrong if you said PCs are better than macs.

The fact is they use what is essentially the same technology, and if you look inside a mac it will look just about the same as what you'd see if you look inside a PC.

Macs use RAM, HDDS (or SSDs) motherboards, PSUs and GPUs just like PCs, and just like PCs there are cheap components and there are expensive components, each with their own specific purpose - for instance you dont really need a high powered GPU unless you're playing modern computer games or running demanding 3D applications. As such, a PC can use EXACTLY the same hardware as a mac and therefore neither is better than the other.

HOWEVER, the same performance you could get from a mac costing say, £1000, could be bought for a PC costing about £400, and this difference in price only increases the further up the performance ladder you go. For example, a high performance Alienware system might set you back £1700, but a mac of the same specifications, with EXACTLY the same parts will easily cost you £2600. Just for reference, a system with those kind of specs would probably cost about £1000 if you built it yourself. Obviously, both Alienware and Apple need to make a profit, and will inevitably charge you a bit for the branding as well, but whichever way yoou slice it, Apple are always going to give you less for your money.

The bottom line is that if you buy a mac, you will be paying several hundred or even over a thousand pounds for the OS (Operating system), which let's face it doesn't make very much difference at all because most people are happy with Windows, and a bit of software that is comparable with that which can be bought seperately and installed on a PC anyway. So I guess now you can answer your own question - they're the same it's just that one costs more money...

"Macs are easier to use when you get further into a computer than the basics. PCs have more than 1 million known viruses, but Macs have less than a dozen.

Using the program Boot Camp, Mac users can use Windows XP on their machine, so it's like having a two-in-one computer when using that software."

The virus thing is true, but irrelevant because for the money you save by not buying a mac could be used to buy a decent anti-virus like Norton, and you'll STILL have saved money.

Are Mac's worse than PC's?

PCs are way better then Macs but Macs are PCs so the question is meaningless. If the questioner wanted to compare PCs that run the Windows operating system and those that run Mac OS X the question remains meaningless as Macs can run Windows as well as Mac OS X if required.

Is Pages used more than Microsoft Word?

No. Pages is used a lot but Microsoft Word would be used a lot more than it. Most people have IBM PCs more than Macs and so Microsoft Word is more common, as it is available for both PCs and Macs, whereas Pages is mainly for Macs.

Which is better a PC or a Mac?

Well, there is not a clear answer. I personally believe that Macs are better than PCs. But my thoughts are different from yours. The best thing to do is to go and play with a Mac and see if you like it or not. Go to apple.com and see the videos, specs and everything else you are worried about. If you see that increases your productivity or creativity then go for it with not second thought...! i personally say macs are better, because ever since windows 7 came out, dells are just trying to copy apple ideas. 1st, macs don't get as many viruses as PCs do. mac's have better graphics and can do more things PCs can't do, that they can't beat.

Why do most corporations use PCs and not Macs if Macs are 'so much better'?

Because on paper, PCs are "so much cheaper" (that is, until the support cost is later factored in). That, and Microsoft has spent a long time developing and marketing to the corporate market.

How are Macs better than PCs?

Macs are not virus or malware prone. Mac hardware usually lasts longer than PC hardware. Mac OS X's GUI may be easier to navigate. Mac OS X has a fast start-up time. Macs hardware and software are from the same source, making compatibility more likely.

When it comes to design why is Mac preferred over PC?

Which should you get Mac or PC?

It depends if you want better for more or not. Macs, in my opinion, are better, but a little more costly than PCs. PCs cost less but don't have as high of a quality. They're slower and often are hard to program and connect to the Internet. Hope this helps, which it may not, but still, it's your choice.
