At one time, Savage was the largest gun maker in the US. While their guns have not had a huge collector following, they were always well made, durable, and reliable guns. The modern day Savage rifles are excellent guns, and are producing surprisingly accurate results. I like them a lot.
Savage Guns was created in 1971.
The duration of Savage Guns is 1.42 hours.
It's OK
Yes
its a name brand which = good
Sears did not. They had guns made by other companies for them, having them mark the guns with the Sears Brand. Known as "hardware" guns, the practice was used for the Sears JC Higgins brand, Montgomery Ward's Westernfield brand, Western Auto's Revelation brand, etc. Very common practice at one time. Guns were made by Savage, Marlin, Mossberg, Winchester, High Standard, Remington, etc.
Coast to Coast was a chain of hardware stores. Several companies made guns marked with the brand, and included Savage, Marlin and Stevens. Depends of which gun you are researching.
Kwa is a good top quality brand. Most of their guns are in the $200 to about $380 range.
Npe- and they never did. JC Higgins was a brand used by Sears for guns mde by companies such as Winchester, Marlin, Savage, High Standard, etc. The guns were marked with the JC Higgins brand instead of the maker's brand. Sears changed the JC Higgins brand to Ted Williams, and in the 1980s, stopped selling firearms.
Montgomery Wards did not make guns, they were made by various companies like Mossberg, Savage, Stevens and Hi Standard. Who made guns /shotguns for JC Penney, Sears, and Western Auto along with guns for Wards. The brand name were put on the guns for the stores to sell.
Like Sears, Montgomery Wards, Western Auto and other retailers, K-Mart did not make guns. However, they DID contract with companies such as Savage, Mossberg, marlin, etc to produce guns marked with the K-mart brand.
