The V8 engines and the 3.8 liter V6 engine have the distributor in front
The other size V6 engines have the distributor at the rear
The straight 6 cylinder engine has the distributor on the drivers side
If the truck has a V 8 engine their is none , these engines still have a distributor located in the front of the engine.
On a 1993 Ford E-150 GASOLINE engine : Follow the spark plug wires to the distributor cap on top of the distributor On the 4.9 liter / 300 cubic inch inline six cylinder engine ( the distributor is on the DRIVERS SIDE of the engine ) On the V8 engines it is ( near the front of the engine on the top of the engine )
1 - 5 - 3 - 6 - 2 - 4 The distributor rotor turns CLOCKWISE On the Ford and Dodge engines # 1 on the distributor cap faces AWAY from the engine On the Chev engine # 1 on the distributor cap faces to the front
On the 4.9 L ( 300 cubic inch ) straight 6 cylinder engine , the distributor is on the drivers side of the engine - the distributor cap is on top of the distributor On the V8 engines , the distributor is located on top of the engine at the front , the distributor cap is on top of the distributor Where one end of the spark plug wires all connect , the other ends go to each spark plug
if it has a distributor, its in the distributor, if no distributor its at the front of the engine by the crankshaft damper
The spark plug firing order on the 2.0 L + 2.3 L Ford Ranger engines is ( 1 - 3 - 4 - 2 ) , the distributor rotation is CLOCKWISE , and the engine cylinders are numbered 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 from front to back The spark plug firing order on the 2.8 L + 2.9 L Ford Ranger engines is ( 1 - 4 - 2 - 5 - 3 - 6 ) , the distributor rotation is CLOCKWISE , and the engine cylinders are numbered 1 , 2 , 3 on the passenger side of the engine from front to back and 4 , 5 , 6 on the drivers side of the engine from front to back
4 cylinder and V6 engines - CLOCKWISE V8 engine - COUNTERCLOCKWISE
On a Ford V6 engine : clockwise ( unless it's the 3.8 liter V6 engine which has the distributor at the front of the engine , that one is counterclockwise ) On a Ford inline ( straight ) six cylinder the distributor rotor turns clockwise
The ford 4.6 v8 engine rotates in a clockwise direction looking at the front. This should be the same for most Ford engines.
I would assume that the # 1 position on the distributor cap faces AWAY from the engine like it does on other sizes of Ford straight 6 cylinder engines
The 3.0 L - V6 engine has a distributor cap on the 1993 Ford Ranger The 4 cylinder and 4.0 L - V6 engines are EDIS ( electronic distributorless ignition system )
counterclockwise
