XL models usually don't have chrome grills and bumpers, while XLT models have standard chrome grills, chrome bumpers, and alloy wheels. The XL is cheaper than the XLT in starting prices, but an XL Crew Cab can outprice an XLT regular cab. XL models also have standard vinyl seating, while the XLTs have standard cloth seating. The engine choices are the same, but an XL Crew Cab can only have a 4.6L 3-V V8 while the XLT Crew Cab can have a 4.6L or a 5.4L V8. Overall, the XLT has a lot better features, and it's the one I'd rather have out of the two models. But either way, it's a FORD truck
