According to the IUCN Red list, as of June 2017, Killer whales do not meet any of their criteria for a threatened status.
Killer whales, or Orcas, are in no way going extinct. they are the top predator of the ocean and abound in all regions of it. The larger groups, or Pods, typically reside in the colder regions of the ocean around the Arctic and Antarctic areas but migrate to warmer waters every year. Orcas are not even considered an endangered species but are still protected under the Marine Mammal act.
Another opinion:
The killer whale will become extinct if we continue to be the horrible managers of this planet that we have been so far.
Although Orcas are not an endangered species, some local whales are threatened due to pollution, habitat loss, and whaling.
A:Yes because they are killed for meat, sport and blubber. A:Olsen, Ken, National Wildlife; Oct/Nov2006, Vol. 44 Issue 6, p22-30The article discusses dangers to the whalepopulation of Puget Sound, Washington which would also affect the area's multimillion dollar whale watching industry. Three orca pods living in Puget Sound from May through October, known as the southern resident killerwhale population, were declared federally endangered late last year by the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), the federal agency responsible for protecting marine species. The whale population is believed to be declining because of a decline in wild Chinook salmon and the combined effects of global warming, toxic pollution, and vessel noise.

Chris Hall The southern resident killer whale (orca) population, located on Canada's Pacific coast, is a naturally small population with less than 100 animals. The population declined approximately 20% between 1996 and 2001, to 80 animals. Fortunately, the population has steadily increased again to 90 killer whales as of 2005. However, due to the inherently small population size and the uncertainty associated with the current population trajectory they are now listed as endangered under Canada's Species at Risk Act (SARA).
Killer whales, also known as orcas, are not officially endangered. There are a great many threats to the killer whale, and some local populations are definitely endangered or threatened, but as a speices, they are classified as "data deficient". This means there are different species of killer whales, and some of them may well be in need of protection. For example, in late 2005, the Southern Resident Killer Whales, which are a group of populations in the eastern North Pacific Ocean, were placed on the US Endangered species list.
endangered.
The IUCN says that there is not enough information to determine their conservation status.
yes they are!!
No they are not.
some may some may not this is the real answer and you can tell.
no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what world are you in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No one knows that for sure, but as for now, the orca or killer whale (in fact a large dolphin) is not endangered.
in some places but no
no whales are not going extinct

Both! I know its unbelievable, Japan and Norway are the only countries in the world, that still hunt whales to this day.
different species are endangered and some are threatened. Some are even extinct.
Some species of whales are endangered because they were over hunted by man.
Yes, killer whales are on the endangered species list.
Yes, they are endangered!
Why are whales but not chickens are in danger of extinction?
They are not threatened. See IUCN Redlist for details.
I think Killer whales are danger because of blond hair.
the endangered sea animals are killer whales blue whales etc
By restricting hunting..But the killer whale is not endangered.
