No, they are different. Now, you might be able to use either one with either engine though. But from the factory they were different.
the big block will bolt right to the small block motor mounts but they do make big block motor mounts that you can buy and install on the 66, it lets the engine sit a little lower and further to the drivers side.
NO. Not even close.
small block and big block motor mounts are the same, so you should be able to take V8 motor mounts from most any Chevy engine bay.
The small plugs, on both sides of the engine block, at the rear edge of the motor mounts. A pita to drain. You have to remove the motor mounts.
change the motor mounts and get the computer and wiring harness out of the donor car that the small block came out of.
no
A Cutlass is more or less the same thing as a Malibu or Monte Carlo. You could use motor mounts from either of those.
Yes, a 283, 305, 307, 327 etc will fit. You should be able to use small block motor mounts from 1966
I recently built a engine test stand for a 402ci Chevy engine. The distance between the motor mounts is 16 1/2 inches center to center. This should be true for small block and big block engines.
it should be any 4 bolt main small block, like a 305 350 383 400 327 you could even upgrade to a big block, but you may run into some trouble with engine mounts.
Very easy. The four bolt holes on the front of the motor, are for the early motor mounts. You will either need to get a bellhousing with the early mounts on the side, or, if you are running an automatic, you wil have to make, or buy, a cross member.
The 351 was not available in the 68, but the 289 was so just use those mounts, the 351W is a small block and is the same as the 289.
