Oxen are not native to Madagascar. Oxen, which are domestic bovines trained to be "beasts of burdern," are rather "invasive species" of Madagascar, introduced by humans and used by humans, rarely living in the wild, if ever. Domestic cattle are native to mainland Africa, Europe and Asia.
