The fact is that because of social discrimination people from scheduled caste and tribes have started writing surnames sounding like Rajput/Thakurs and brahmins.

Hela Community has its roots in rural part in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. The Origin of this community is yet to be researched. The people belonging to this community were professionally agriculturist & basket weavers (Sup). Beside this they spend their leisure time on Hela Traditionall Music. The work of Sweeper/cleaner went generation after generation. This trend quashed their real identity and unfortunately gave them a categorized image of Scheduled Caste.
