Plastic bottles should not be given to your dog as a toy! Although not generally toxic, they could cut their gums, tongue or choke on a piece of the plastic. I give my dogs good sized rawhide bones to chew on and it takes them a long time to widdle them down, but when they get too small (when my dogs aren't looking) I throw them in the garbage and give them new ones.

Nylon is slightly toxic. It leaches a form of cyanide as well as other chemicals like diamine into liquids stored in nylon (or polyamid as it is called) containers. Therefore avoid nylon bottles like Baby B Safe bottles made out of this plastic. Use stainless instead.

It is recommended using a stainless steel bottle over plastic bottles as it is less toxic and will not leech endocrine disrupting agents that could lead to causing cancer.
