Some Freemasons will tell you in simplified terms that they are a group of closely-knit men that get together for fellowship both spiritually and intellectually. Now the real anti Freemasons view them in a much more devious light determined that they are out to take over the world. It would seem that their beginnings are somewhat of a mystery in itself. Even the members themselves are often unclear as to the beginning, some will tell you different stories.

No, the Knights Templar and the Freemasons are not the same organization. The Knights Templar was a medieval Christian military order, while Freemasonry is a fraternal organization with roots in the stonemason guilds of the Middle Ages. There is speculation about connections between the two groups, but they have distinct histories and purposes.

No, the Incas did not use concrete in their construction. They primarily used stones that were fit together without mortar, a technique known as dry stone construction. The Inca's skilled masons were able to create strong and durable structures using this method.

Were the Knights Templer Germanic?

Yes. The Knights Templar were Germanic, the originated as a Christian religious order of Knights who fought in the Crusades and they were originally from the Western portion of Germany near the Rhine river. Towards the end to after the crusades, a few of the members of the Knights Templar moved into France, and expanded the order to France. The Knights Templar originated from the Teutonic order of Knights, and the Knights Hospitaller who were both famous, yet powerful, Christian groups who were from Germany. The Knights Templar still are around today but are referred to as just "Templars" or "Free Masons."

Are the masons what is left of the knights templar?

This is a popular opinion held by Masons and non-Masons alike. For an interesting treatment on the topic, I'd suggest reading John J. Robinson's book "Born In Blood". This book was written by Brother Robinson before he became a Freemason based on his own extensive research.

Can Knights of Columbus be Freemasons?

Freemasons do not consider membership in the Knights of Columbus to be a bar or impediment to membership in Freemasonry. Many Knights might consider the traditional hostility of the Roman Catholic Church to Freemasonry as a reason not to put their names forward as candidates for Freemasonry. But there are certainly many Catholic Masons, and there are certainly Masons who are Knights of Columbus as well.

Are assassins related to masons?

To be honest, no one really knows. Since the Hashashun clan and the Knights Templar no longer exist(that we know of), no one can directly pinpoint The Masons to assassins, templars, or just a somewhere-in-between clan. But, people have seem to believe that the Masons are related to Templars, with a single fact: They are both top secret societies. But in reality, they are MUCH more closely related to Assassins. 1) The Symbols resemble eachother 2) Knights Templar where cristian extreamists, while Masons are polyreligious. 3) Contrary to popular belief, masons fight for freedom, not global domination through a single world-wide government. 4) FreeMasons no longer accept entries into thier clan since i believe the 50's or 60's. I could be wrong on the date. You have to be born into it. 5) You know the guy that killed Abe? Yeah, Booth. He, of course, was an assassin, BUT, he was also believed to be a freemason. The "unknown" group that plotted against the government due to the fact that they were legitamatly trying to take over the world.

Was Joseph smith a Freemason?

As in the Knights Templar?? No. Joseph Smith, Jr. (founder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints/"Mormon" church) was never affiliated with the Knights Templar. The Knights Templar is largely associated with the Roman Catholic Church, both the church and the organization were extremely unpopular in the time and location that Joseph Smith lived.

Are all knight templar from a nuther order masonic?

There is no direct link between the ancient knights templar and the masons. The masonic lodge was created in the 1700's in Scotland, thats 400 years, give or take, between the templars being disbanded and the formation of the modern masonic lodge, probably at kilwinning. References to the knights templar and the St Clair family of Roslynn claim direct decent from there, although sketchy at best, templars may have found help in Scotland due to it being ex-communicated by the catholic church at the time and therefore a safe haven for them. This is why with the masonic lodge being created in Scotland and the link of templars being here has spurred this argument. The masons may use templar ideas though Gnostic teachings etc but this is as far as the link between the two of them end. Something also claimed is the templars helped Robert the Bruce at the battle of Bannockburn defeat the English and gain independence, although historians laugh at this claim, also the 400 years of nothing before the first lodge was started is to long a time to fill in blanks with half debated arguments. Hope this helps. References: I am Scottish and know many masons.

What does the Knights Templer have to do with the Masonic Lodge?

There is a historical connection between the Knights Templar and the Masonic Lodge. The Masonic organization known as the Knights Templar is based on the medieval Knights Templar order and includes rituals and symbols associated with the original Templar knights. However, the modern Masonic Knights Templar organization is a fraternal order and does not have a direct historical lineage to the medieval Knights Templar.

How does the free masons make a difference?

I am a Freemason.Freemasonry is a social fraternity that has existed for centuries (at least back to the 1300's and likely much further back than that).Much of the 'work' of freemasons today is charity and community service based - we provide more charity than any other group on the planet, over $3 billion per year just in the USA - free hospitals, schools, retirement/youth homes, etc.Freemasonry is also responsible for the freedoms that American's enjoy - the US Constitution was based on masonic principles of individual liberty. For those watching National Treasure, remember it is fiction based. The historical Knights Templar were a group of warrior monks founded by the Catholic Church after the first Crusade in the 11th century who were subsequently arrested, tortured and executed in the 14th Century by the King of France and then Pope Clement (although his private records, now published by the Vatican, show that he exhonerated the Templars). The Knights Templar did not start Freemasonry...most modern freemasons claim there is no tie at all to the Knights Templar; although their is a side degree in an appendant body (the York Rite) that has a Knights Templar degree.I would be happy to answer any additional questions you have on the topic, feel free to ask.Source(s):I am a Freemason
