Under normal operation one fan will run until you turn on the air conditioner then both fans run.
The cooling fans on a 99 Nissan Maxima will not come on if the coolant temperature sensor is defective. The fan only comes on when the temperature passes a threshold.
about 190 degrees GXE 195-205 on the SE it opens about 192-195 Kongkit Raggan-Supatanampon
The most likely culpret is a faulty radiator fan relay or a blown fuse. Fans are intended to force air through the radiator when the car is sitting still and reaches about 200 degrees F. If you turn your A/C on the fans should operate all the time. If the fans operate for A/C you may have a faulty temperature sensor.
Because their supposed fans are stupid
There is no fan belt, they have electric fans.
Check to see if you are getting power to fans - if not could be fuse or relay --make sure A/C or defrosters are on If you are getting power then probably fans are defective
it was supposed to be personal and away from her PRECIOUS fans, that is what i hear!
hey there thanks for any help, just bought a nissan primera 1990, both radiator fans dont work and im told the sensor may need changing, does anyone know where i can locate it to replace?
Figure out why they stopped working and repair the problem.
sounds like your temperature sensor unit if you have already checked the thermostat and the radiator and fans are ok
sounds like you have a mas air problem and the car is in safe mode...check your codes but most likely its the maf. check the connections and condition...if all checks out look at the coolant temp sensor...are your fans on all the time now for no reason? if so the temp sensor is shorted out and needs replaced..
the VQ30DE engine in the 2000 Maxima has 2 crank sensors, the 1st one is located directly under the crank pulley and the other one is located on the transmission bell housing facing the radiator fans where the engine and trans. meet.
