There are arguments against vegetarianism but they are ill- informed and uneducated. Arguments against vegetarianism include:

  • Difficulty in obtaining sufficient vitamin B12
  • Humans were made to eat meat.
  • Meat contains nutrients needed for our body to function properly.
  • Vegetarians have a hard time getting enough protein in their diet.
  • A vegetarian diet promotes obesity.

These arguments, as mentioned, do not stand up.

A proper vegetarian diet is lean and provides all the protein, minerals, and vitamins a person needs while affording a great deal of diversity in food sources. A person can easily live a full, happy, and complete dietary life without any meat because the nutrients and proteins provided by meat are available in legions of plant-based alternatives.

Unfortunately, many vegetarians, like many meat-eaters, lean toward eating lots of sweets, breads, unhealthy snacks, beverages, carbohydrates, and fats because these foods can be grabbed on the go. As a result, a vegetarian who eats the wrong things will gain weight just like someone who eats meat.
