Go through the Yellow Pages and call your local charities and see if they have a program for taking in donated vehicles, and if so what they do with them. I know I donated a car to a charity here in Canada. However, I would think the cost of insurance and registration as well as upkeep and the cost of fuel to run it would not be viable in your financial situation. Perhaps the bus is the cheapest mode of transportation at this point. I believe your welfare agency will contribute bus passes for you and your children. If all else fails, get a rich boyfriend.
