Elegant Parakeet
- approximately 8.5 inches long - mainly yellowish olive, blue band across top of head and along outer wings, with the female being duller.

King Parakeet - 2 sizes - 1 is approximately 15 inches long and the larger one is approximately 16.5 inches long - mostly red bodies with green wings, with the female having a pale green head and breast. There are a few more King Parakeets that vary in both size and colour.

Mulga Parakeet - approximately 10.5 inches long - mainly green with yellow forehead, red and yellow lower breast, blue on outer wings, with the females being much duller overall.

Paradise Parakeet - approximately 10.5 inches long - bright green on cheeks, throat and breast, blue green on sides, red forehead, outer wing and under tail, yellow around eyes, with the females being much duller.

Port Lincoln Parakeet - approximately 14.5 inches long - black head with strip of red over beak, yellow band at back of head, green back and upper breast, yellow lower breast, female is slightly paler and head has a brownish tinge.

Princess of Wales Parakeet approximately 15.5 inches long - mostly olive green with light blue crown, pink on forehead and throat, with the female being similar but slightly paler.

Red Rump Parakeet - approximately 10.5 inches long - head, wings and back mostly green, yellowish green on upper breast, turning to yellow on lower breast, bright red on rump, with the females being duller overall and much less red on rump.

Rock Pebbler - approximately 15 inches long - mostly olive green to yellow birds with the male having a red band across the wing.

Superb Parakeet - approximately 15.5 inches long - mostly green birds, with the male having yellow on his forehead and throat with a red band on his upper chest.

Turquoisine Parakeet - approximately 8 inches long - green back, blue face and outer wings, red strip on wings, yellow to orange breast, with females having a green upper breast, no red on wings and less blue on face,

Adelaide Rosella - 13.5 inches long - mainly orange to red on breast and upper head, yellow back of head, blue under chin, on tail and outer wings, with the females being slightly smaller.

Crimson Rosella - 14 inches long - mainly red with blue on the cheeks, tail and outer wings and black on wings, with the females being slightly smaller.

Eastern Rosella 12 inches long - red head and upper breast, yellow to yellowish green lower breast, white cheeks, wings have yellow, blue, green and black and tailfeathers are greenish blue, with the females being slightly smaller and colours being slightly duller.

Green Rosella - 14.5 inches long - mainly yellow to greenish yellow with a red forehead, and blue under chin with the females being slightly smaller and a slight orange throat.

Northern Rosella - 11 inches long - black head and black on wings, throat white rimmed with blue, yellow breast and yellow on wings, red under tail with the females being very similar but slightly smaller.

Western Rosella - 10 inches long - mainly red with yellow cheeks and under chin, blue, green and black on wings with the females being a duller red with more green areas

Yellow Rosella - 13 inches long - mainly yellow with orange forehead, blue throat, tail and outer wing, with females having red tinge on throat and upper breast.

Alexandrine Parakeet - approximately 22 to 24 inches long - mainly green with yellowish green breast with males having a ring of black to pink around neck when fully mature - originates India

Derbyan Parakeet - approximately 20 inches long - mainly green with violet head, black above beak and under chin, greyish blue breast, with the females being similar but slightly paler - originates China

Long Tailed Parakeet - approximately 16.5 inches - mainly green, darker green on top of head, rosy red sides and back of head, black stripe under chin and to the sides of head under rosy colour with the females being a duller colour overall - originates Malaysia, Singapore and Borneo.

Moustached Parakeet - several similar birds ranging from 13 inches to 15 inches long - mainly green with grey head, black line running from eyes over beak and black chin to sides of head, salmon coloured breast with the females having a duller coloured breast - originates Indonesia

Plum Headed Parakeet - approximately 13 inches long - mainly green, red head with blue ring around, red patch on wings with the females having a bluish-grey head without the ring and without the red patch on wings - originates India
