Bigots are generally bullies in sheep's clothing and often dislike others of a different race as well as gays. Some humans dislike gays or other things in life simply out of ignorance and fear. The rule of thumb is if you don't understand gays; don't want to understand gays then realize you have the problem and can walk the other way as gays generally stay in their own groups and rarely cause problems ... in other words, mind your own business and stay away from gays.
