Although some schools do allow this, most don't. I suggest (if you can) you put it in your locker, pocket, and, If your a girl in your purse. If your in a school that doesn't allow phones during class, you might end up being lucky enough to score a teacher that allows little or as much use as you plead when it comes to phones. Regarding "in the school" generally...
Parents and children
can reach one another through the main office phone at any time.
The phones are also being used as video tapes and going onto you tube frequently showing the lack of study going on in the schools.
Not to mention cell phones in a year from now will
no longer be limited to just being a phone
but will be similar to having the internet in your hands at any time
and much of the internet can be a danger to children
as they are usually open people to their credit and therefore
quite naive about the world still and its true dangers.
The only good I can see for having the right to a phone in school
would be for the rare emergency where everyone in the school wishes to use their phones suddenly because of an incident such as someone using weapons and they wish to tell their folks they were not shot or are stuck in a location they can not get out from. Fires would not need a phone as they should not be on them but rather concentrating on the moment. Most everything a phone could offer can be done through the main office under normal circumstances
How often is a school/country taken over by Another Country or gunman?
I realize that can be the big debate as gun use by children is on the rise it appears.
BUT the main point is:
Anything that distracts from a students studies modern or not
is just another excuse for not concentrating and therefore

When the law was passed to allow phones it stated that students could have phones with them, but not use them. Passing is only 5 minutes and if everyone was texting or talking on the phone no one would get to class ( people are tardy everyday as it is). Phones are a distraction at school and you are in school to learn.
