The state of Ohio does restrict private ownership of some species of monkeys. Those species include: southern and northern night monkeys, dusky and masked titi monkeys, Muriquis, Goeldis, spider monkeys, woolly monkeys and howler monkeys.
it depends on were you live like in an apartment or in a house. you should ask your landlord or whoever owns the house . there might also be laws in your state saying that you cant own any specific exotic animals. but im pretty sure there are no laws in any state that say you cant own a spider monkey, lemur, marmoset,or a tamarin. but im almost positive you cant keep chimps or orangutans. but also in some states you are allowed to take care of them until they go into adulthood or are getting there because its called mothering them until they get older to live by themselves in the wild somewhere or at a zoo possibly. hope this helped!!
I HOPE !!!!!! :D ...probably ya, but i dont think wiki answers would be ur best bet, just Google the heck out of it. even try a state website like i.e ohio.com , and search up a forum and ask a question about laws and stuff ______________________________________________________________ Yes primates are legal to own in Ohio. I have primates and need to permit or licence unless I was to start a business with them or show them, then I would need whats called a USDA permit. You have to check with your county and city/town however because they may have outlawed them. Please consider buying two monkeys, I know it may seem like a lot but they really need the interaction with other monkeys like them. Not only will obtaining two monkeys be beneficial for them, but also for you because you could leave them alone with each other for a little bit, where as if it was a single monkey it would need attention pretty much 24/7. If you are getting a pet primates, please do your research on them. I fully agree on having them as pets but some states have outlawed them and or you need a permit to have them. Any level of government can outlaw them so not only check with your state, but your county, and city/town. Good luck with your primates.
No but theres probably a ban on certain kinds of monkeys.
If you are planning on owning a monkey as a pet, you better think long and hard.
monkeys can be very dangerous and need more attention and other things then, lets say a dog.
