The Constitution of India is very detailed, especially from an American perspective.

Article 15, in brief, prohibits discrimination on the basis of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth. It then details various ways this shouldn't be done, then provides exceptions for itself, if it is doing so for good motives, like special programs for women, the disabled or what it calls "backward" castes or tribes.
